The British Isles

British Isles are a group of islands off the northwestern coast of Europe. The group consists of two main islands, Great Britain and Ireland, with numerous smaller islands, including the Hebrides, Shetland Islands, Orkney Islands, Isles of Scilly, Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands.
Seas
Great Britain is the largest island in Europe, located in the north-west, it is separated from the Continent by the North Sea and the English Channel. Between Great Britain and Ireland lies the Irish Sea. The Atlantic Ocean is northwest of Scotland.
Mountains
The mountains of the British Isles are low compared to other ranges. The highest mountain is Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1343 m).
The second highest mountain is Snowdon, in Wales (1085 m).
Climate
The British Isles climate is mild and temperate due to the current of warm water flowing from the Gulf Stream. The west has a higher rainfall and slightly milder climate than the east.
